How to vote

This page explains how to vote on BitBlocks governance proposals. You can vote in two ways: with linked wallets (one click after linking) or with your address and a one-time signature.

Prerequisites

  • You need BBK in a wallet. Use the official BitBlocks Qt Wallet to hold and sign with your address.
  • Your voting power is your BBK balance at the snapshot block. Each proposal has a snapshot block height set when it was created; the balance of your address at that block determines how much your vote counts. You can check blocks on the BitBlocks Explorer.
  • One vote per address per proposal. You can only vote when the proposal is active.

Proposal status

  • Pending — Before the start date. Voting is not open yet.
  • Active — Between the start and end date. Voting is open; you can submit your vote.
  • Ended — After the end date. Voting is closed and results are final.

Voting with linked wallets

If you link one or more BBK addresses to your account, you can vote with one click per proposal—no need to sign again each time.

  1. Create an account and log in on vote.bitblockscrypto.com (sign up if you don’t have one).
  2. Go to Account → Wallets (or link a wallet here). Click "Link new wallet". The site will show you a one-time message. Open BitBlocks Qt Wallet → File → Sign Message, paste that message, sign it, then paste your wallet address and the signature back on the site and submit. Your wallet is now linked.
  3. On a proposal page, select an option (e.g. Yes / No) and click Submit vote with linked wallets. Your vote is sent using all your linked addresses; you don’t need to sign again.

Voting with address + signature

You can vote without an account by proving ownership of your address with a one-time signature.

  1. On the proposal page, choose the option you want (e.g. Yes or No), then click Vote with address + signature.
  2. Copy the message shown on the page. Open BitBlocks Qt Wallet → File → Sign Message, paste the message, and sign it. Copy the signature the wallet gives you.
  3. Back on the site, paste your BBK address and the signature into the form, then submit. Your vote is recorded for that address.
  4. Each address can vote only once per proposal. If that address already voted, the page will show it and you cannot vote again with the same address.

After voting

Your vote is recorded and included in the proposal results. You can see it in the vote history on the proposal page.

You cannot change your vote. Once submitted, your choice is final for that proposal.
